Let customers speak for us
from 866 reviewsMeget praktisk og super anvendelig ultra gedigen værktøj.

HG Ioframe Shiden Kai (Meteor) - P-Bandai 1/144

Jeg hentede GI Joe Baroness på OK tanken,
Kan man så sige man har hentet Baronessen på benzin tanken?!?

The RG God Gundam is Domon Kasshu's second Gundam in the radical 'G-Gundam' fighting show, wherein the nations (the orbiting space colonies) compete for world leadership by choosing representatives to fight with, rather than fight wars, on the impoverished Earth below them.
This is the titular mobile suit that complements Domon's peak performance with the 'Undefeated of the East' martial arts style. When he dons his fighting suit the 20m tall robot mimics his movements.
Aesthetics:
This rendition of the God Gundam is in the 'Real Grade' style and as is typical of the line, it is not anime accurate, but is based on what a Gundam would look like in reality and features a ton of details, color separation and different proportions.
Plastics come in White, light grey, dark grey, saturated blue, deep red, yellow, metallic green, metallic orange, transparent pink and clear.
The only color correction is two pairs of gold stickers for the inside of the shoulders, underneath the white caps.
Speaking of which, both have a big gate on them that are hard to get to and clean up, which leave very visible non-undergated marks on the most prominent parts of the model.
I have no idea why, but sometimes Bandai does this and it's annoying. Be careful, because this plastic is a little glossy and marks easily.
There is a lot of detail everywhere suitable for panel lining. The kit comes with a sticker decal sheet as is the norm for RG's, but it also has a lot of tiny (sub 1mm) stickers that require a lot of patience and a needle to place with. I would avoid using the stickers on the blue areas, as the clear borders will show up very obviously.
Visually it's a busy model with a lot of spread out high contrast colors, but it is based on a nearly 30 year old show, which is full of homages to the prior ones and the colors on this are of course the classic gundam colors.
Mechanics:
This model is completely full of movable parts. It's honestly a little on the overwhelming side.
The posability/articulation is off the charts. The only thing that doesn't move are the fingers on the hands (as normal), pretty much everything else does and all of it has a high range of movement.
Notably the arms have an extra double hinge inside the shoulders, so they can extend out and form a 'crossed arms' pose, something the 20 year old MG models were also known for.
The chest has two opening hatches for the center jewel, the lower legs have opening hatches with moving vents inside, the blue arm covers shift forward and the blue fingers and claws all move around, the shoulders open, all skirts move and the side skirts have hinges that move them out of the way of the legs, the toes bend and the feet swivel nearly 90 degrees to each side, the lower arms swivel around, there are panels that dip on the inside of the thighs when the legs are bent, the entire neck swings forward, the wings open and flap, the beam saber holders turn, the core lander detaches and transforms, the shoulder hatches open to reveal guns and I'm sure there's a bunch of other things I'm missing.
Oh I remembered, there's an ab crunch forwards and to the sides.
Oddly enough, there's no opening pilot's hatch, something Bandai has started not implementing on the last few RG kits.
Equipment:
This is a "kung fu" mobile suit, so it has no held guns (those are molded in and color separated, one on each shoulder and four on the head).
You get:
2 Beam saber handles with 2 unique "katana" style beam saber effects
2 fists
2 spread open hands
2 "spear" hands (all fingers held together pointing forwards) - These feature a wrist joint so you can point them ahead, up or down.
2 holding hands (for the beam sabers)
2 wider spread open hands in metallic orange
1 "Erupting Bakunetsu God Finger" hand (it looks like the 'live long and proper' vulcan peace sign) also in metallic orange
1 Core Lander (that plugs into the back of the Gundam, it's what the wings are attached to)
1 attachable ring holder in clear plastic with 3 plastic rings in yellow, orange and red.
Conclusion:
This kit is a little difficult to assemble, I would not recommend for a beginner in the hobby. Tons of tiny parts.
The greatest strength of this kits is also its weakness - Too many moving parts. When you go to pose one thing, three others move and not every part is easy to get to even with my relatively small fingers.
The 'good smile' stand fits perfectly, which I HIGHLY recommend for it! (standard round peg, goes into the butt)
It definitely feels like Bandai is pushing the limits of what an RG can do with this thing, it is very impressive. A must have for RG collectors.

This is the last of the modern HG Wing kits, at least the original five Gundams and many feared this would be a disappointment due to the extendable arm, however they managed to do a good job, though not quite without parts-formation.
The Shenlong Gundam is piloted by Chang Wufei, the highly traditionalist inheritor of a feared and exiled warrior clan.
Aesthetics:
Let's get the worst part out of the way, which are the round stickers for the shoulder 'gems', which look just fine in the product images, but absolutely garbage when you stick them on.
However, you can fix this by avoiding them and using a green metal marker and filling in the circles yourself. Apart from the circles, only eyes for the head and 'dragon' are on the sheet, no color correction.
The kit comes in a saturated ultramarine blue, pure white, brownish red, yellow and grey.
There's an appreciable amount of detail on the plastic to panel line.
Overall, it looks nearly like it should, though the chest tends to not look as prominent (its main visual feature) when it's not puffed up. The 'diamonds' on the side skirts are not color separated and the barrels on the dragon head are white instead of grey.
Mechanics:
As with the others, the butt flap moves and lifts the entire midsection of the model, giving it a decent ab crunch (parts get in the way eventually, otherwise it'd do a full 90).
Another very interesting part is how the chest is constructed, as the red hatch under the main plate will move up/down and inwards/outwards if you bend the upper torse forwards/backwards, so you can "puff up" his chest. In fact if you DON'T do this, the head will sit awkwardly with a long exposed neck and it can't turn properly due to the large 'helmet' piece in the back, so in effect he's meant to have his chin all the way down to his chest when posed - It makes sense that he should look aggressive.
The upper torso also pivots side to side, allowing for more posability.
The main feature of the kit is the folding arm that the dragon head flame thrower sits on.
You have two white lengths that sit inside the shoulder, from which the arm sits at the end of.
When folded, it is friction locked into place. Unfolded you get a 2½ times the length of the arm.
More than that, you get two grey links that can be placed in between the white links, for an impressive length - as tall as the model itself (taller with the fangs).
The top and bottom fangs open and close, you're meant to remove the hand as a partsformation, but you can of course just leave it in there.
The articulation of the arm itself is a little finnicky to put in a decent pose, the various links and parts do get a little in the way of each other. The rest of the model poses as well as the others.
Equipment:
2 holding hands
2 tilted holding hands (from Sandrock)
2 wide spread open hands
2 aforementioned grey links to lengthen the arm with
1 shield equippable on the left arm
1 staff with a beam glaive effect part, the staff (with or without beam) is equippable on the back of the model.
Conclusion:
It was always going to be the hardest model to reproduce and it's taken nearly 30 years to get a proper Shenlong. It's not perfect, but it's a good kit. It's a great HG, no doubt about that.
For me it's a little bittersweet as this marks the final model in my Wing collections. There will be grunts and others, but the main mobile suits are all there now, in modern form.
The Shenlong itself was always one of the less distinct mobile suits.
Not only does it reuse the same main colors (blue, red, yellow, white) but it's also the stereotypical "chinese gundam", only less interesting and less detailed than the design of its spiritual predecessor Dragon Gundam (from G-Gundam).
It's not my favourite, but if it's yours, you are probably happy with this kit, or will be once you get it.

The Zaku II (this one being the J type) is the literal first Mobile Suit shown in all of Gundam history, as an antagonist invading grunt. The word is based on 'zako' which means inferior fish - small fry.
This is the 2.0 redesign, meaning they upped the quality, inner frame, mechanics and details.
At this point Bandai has moved away from ball-in-socket hip joints and gone over to the two-pegged ball halves that rotate on three axis'.
Aesthetics:
While the pictures show a painted and desaturated grey-green, the actual kit is brighter. For reference, the RG Zaku II has the same green tones (in fact they're nearly the same kit, just different in scale).
The plastics are pale green, forest green and dark grey for the exterior, grey for the inner frame and navy blue for the backpack, along with transparent lenses for the guns and visor.
Not a lot of detail on the plastic and some of it is shallow and a little hard to panel line.
Very little of the kit is undergated (2007) however the gates are quite small and the plastic is forgiving, so you should largely be able to avoid ugly nub marks.
This particular Zaku II is a little more anime accurate and beefed up in proportions
The kit comes with a dry transfer sheer (good) and a sticker decal sheet (bad). You can see on the pictures why, as there are huge plastic squares around each sticker, but of course you're free to not use them and order separate water slides.
Mechanics:
Full inner frame (beautifully detailed at that) which is as good as they make them today, with moving pistons or piston look-a-likes on most joints. Even the neck has four little juts that will just barely show themselves when you wobble the head around (though this is very hard to notice while it's on the body).
The posability is very good for what it is. You know that the ankles can't pivot much (the "toes" bend, or rather half the foot splits), but the skirts are made to get out of the way (including the back skirt - they ALL move and the side ones swing out) so they don't block the legs.
All fingers have two joints and while the bottom three are molded in one piece, you can cut them apart for full individual finger articulation. Only the thumb is one piece, all the others can bend at two points. Both hands are on a hinge+ball.
Both shoulder mounts move around on three points.
The inner eye turns along with the head thanks to two gear wheels inside, which the RG copied later. It looks effective and he can look over his shoulder for a menacing side stare.
Equipment:
1 set of hands with articulated fingers and tabs for holding weapons (shallow)
1 German style machinegun with a top drum mag (detachable, can place on a skirt)
1 bazooka, equippable on an open flap on the back skirt (friction lock, not very secure but okay)
1 heat hawk axe, mountable on a c-clip on a side or back skirt
2 calf missile launchers, require dissasembly to remove
Build:
Simple to assemble for an MG.
The only snag are the cable links/rings, where you snip the gates and then move them from their interior rubber mold over to the various cables and springs (2 springs included for the exterior leg cables). They sit so tightly that pulling them off, nevermind just sliding them over, takes significant strength (impossible for a kid), so you may have to cut each ring out or drill out the center of the rubber. Do note that they're NOT interchangable, follow the manual and direction!
Conclusion:
Apart from the cable rings, it was an enjoyable build. It's a cheap kit that you get a lot out of and an iconic, classic model.
I should note that the little vents on the legs shown in one of the pictures are not on this model and it does not feature that option - those are only on the red Char version.
This is easily one of my favourite MG's. While a big Sazabi/Nu Gundam Ver Ka is impressive, this feels more "whole", more solid. Just a nice stable grunt kit that you can pose and mess around with on your desk. It's been 15 years, but it sure feels a lot younger. Definitely give it a go.

Endelig kom der én på lager, købt det med det samme. 😍
