Let customers speak for us
from 1822 reviewsI had a great time building this kit.
Do pay attention when making the hands that you sand all the internall parts properly otherwise the moving gimmick will be thight.
Otherwise it was a very nice and unique build. The tracks snapped thougether easely and don't breake loose easely.
I highly recommend this kit.
I c∀n't recommend it enough, this should be in every gunpl∀ collection.
It's ∀ 2007 kit th∀t holds up, looks gre∀t ∀nd is ∀ simple ∀nd short build for not ∀ lot of money, without feeling outd∀ted or che∀p.

Conclusion:
I'll drop the ∀ joke for the conclusion.
Some model kits are fantastic because they're amazing feats of model kit technology, some because they're fantastic build experiences and others because they're very complicated and elaborate with many hundreds of pieces. The Turn ∀ Gundam is fantastic because it's (for the most part) so simple to build, has a very unique concept design and is a solid product.
It's not all sunshine and rainbows - The rifle is very difficult to pose with, the shield doesn't hold on that great and all of the little intricate hatches are very fiddly to open and handle in a very specific way (and they're also the most intricate part of the build, while the rest is beautifully simple). The Crotch Fighter is especially annoying, since the skirts are so stiff and the canopy keeps falling off.
The design, despite me heaping praise on it, is also very controversial. The stupid mustache turns a lot of people off, including myself, but the thing is that it only looks dumb when it's a picture or in animation, it looks absolutely fine in real life.
Ultimately, this is a must-have in every gunpla collection, it really is that good and what's interesting is that it looks great by itself and makes for a fantastic conversation piece, that you don't have to feel embarrassed about displaying.
Nicely packaged, the broom was a bit finicky to get into her hand and the bottom platform a little bent but none the less pretty good.
Nicely packaged, good quality, overall a good experience.
This is a 2024 kit using an outdated 2011 inner frame, for its legs, waist and arms. Thankfully it does not use the shoulders, hands, feet or torso. It also uses 10 parts from the 2011 F runner.
The result is an expensive, beautiful kit, with spongy legs and arms that will eventually loosen. It's embarrassing.
Is it a disaster? No. does it work? Arms can hold weapons and the legs are okay, but it's a lazy and bad choice that has consequence.
Aesthetics:
Akatsuki, in this form, means 'Dawn Break' or 'New Hope', and was an Orb nation super weapon. The golden reflective coating is how the mobile suit actually looks and is a weapon that reflects beams back at the shooters.
The plastics used are very pretty and include:
Gloss Yellow Gold - Gloss Rose Gold - Matte Rose Gold - Gloss Black - Gloss White - Gloss Metallic Red - Brown/Grey (inner frame)
There are zero metallic injection gold plastic parts, if anything, this thing is more premium than the MGEX Strike Freedom, were it not for the inner frame.
While most of the runners are undergated and most of the nub marks are well hidden, there are some that are visible around the model. The worst ones are actually on the gloss black under the knees, that become visible when the legs bend, and these marks are very hard to clean up.
The kit comes with the usual RG foil and decal sticker sheet - The sticker borders show up on the gold. Water-slide decal borders *also* show up on the gold, but less so.
Mechanics:
The articulation is mostly fine, apart from the weak hip connection, due to the old inner frame. The knees lift out and the thigh plate separates - Do not bend the legs before they are on the waist.
Hatches open on the shoulders, the cockpit opens and the vents on the calves lift up a little.
The backpack (Oowashi - 'Big Eagle') is a drone airplane that latches on as a backpack and the guns become F91 style hip rifles that open and extend handles for the hands.
Equipment:
1 double-ended Beam Saber Hilt - Can be pulled apart for dual wielding
2 broad/flat pink Beam Saber Effect Parts
1 Beam Rifle - Can equip the hilt as a bayonet. There is no sticker or foil for the camera - I used a green gem sticker from the PGU RX-78-2
1 Shield
7 Hands - 1 Rifle holding hand, 2 holding hands, 2 spread open hands, 2 fists - Also has MS-joint fists and articulated hands, but without back-hand armor
1 Action Base 7 (struggles to hold up the kit, is best for supporting it standing - For whatever reason the hole is in the waist so the whole thing tilts over. There is a hole for the Oowashi, but it gets covered by the thruster on the Akatsuki... idiotic design.)
There are no minifigs, Bandai seem to have stopped making these :(
Conclusion:
I'm impressed by the way Bandai have hidden and minimized most nub marks. The three different kind of golds look good and while they can be hard to tell apart, you can sometimes see it. The black, white and red all look great too.
It looks really good and even though I bought water-slide decals for it, I'm not sure I want to put them on. I'm not even sure I want to use all of the foils.
The problem is that I don't trust it enough to pose it. I don't like the way the arms and legs bend, at all, it feels wrong. I originally skipped buying this, one because it's very expensive, but two because of the old inner frame. It's not just a bad idea, it's honestly insulting, on top of the fantastic RG 2.0 that released right before this kit. It's not a bad kit, it's just a slightly disappointing one.
There's a lot to go over, but the TL;DR version is that this is mostly a repeat of the Narrative version with a few upgrades. The difference is that there are almost no color correction stickers and you get beam axes. That's *basically* it, from the 2018 Narrative version.
Out of the 32(!!!) runners, only S1, S2, T1 and T2 are from 2024, while the new hands are from 2022 (MGEX, probably). It uses runners from years 08, 09, 12, 18, 22 and 2024. While there are a ton of runners, half of them are very small with a couple of parts. You get a whopping 80g of leftover parts.
Aesthetics:
It's the same as the 2018 Stein Narrative, in the same darker grey plastics - Fit for panel lining and painting and it would serve it well, because it looks a little more boring than it has to.
Most notable the chest plate, shield and sleeves are color separated plastic instead of relying on stickers, just like the RG Sinanju uses separate gold while the MG kits use stickers or water-slide decals.
Disappointingly the kit uses red metallic color correction stickers for the vents on the side of the legs. You'd think on the 5th iteration they'd do *all* of it, especially when there's a dedicated red runner, but no.
There's a big sheet of a couple hundred Ver.Ka. water-slide decals.
Mechanics:
It's the same inner frame that they've used for all the other 4 versions. I can't tell you what's different from each one of them, only that it's fairly simple but robust and while the elbow can't hold the combined rifle and bazooka, the shoulder and hand both can. Use the other hand to support it and it's fine. The cockpit hatches open, the forearms open and the calf-thrusters fold out and turn.
Articulation is solid, though it has that odd 'point arms inward' design that some kits have. The backpack is super annoying, it's set on five points of articulation each with extra long fuel canisters, so they're all over the place and fiddly.
Equipment:
NEW - 2 Beat Heat Hawks (axes) that combine into one and can be stored on the inside of the shield at the back and at the front for attack mode, comes with the Sazabi Beam effect parts.
1 Shield, only fits on the back of either arm (why..?)
2 Beam Saber hilts hidden in the forearms, comes with 2 standard yellow Beam Saber effect parts. There are no hilts for the flat blades that the Sinanju and Sazabi use (why..?)
1 High Beam Rifle that you can alternatively build as the normal Sinanju version with a scope. The High version can't equip the scope (again why..?)
1 collapsable Bazooka that can be equipped in hand, on the butt or underslung on the rifle (also fits on Sazabi rifle)
1 breach load Grenade Launcher, underslung on the rifle (fits on Sazabi)
2 fully articulated 2022 Hands which hold the beam axes or bazooka
1 alternate fixed pose Hand for the beam rifle
4 minifigs of Full Frontal and Zoltan
Conclusion:
The kit has almost no undergating and it's obnoxious, tons of cleanup.
Eye sticker looks outdated, no option to make a mono-eye.
The backpack verniers have a lot of mobility range, but are super annoying.
The model is very solid, but it feels old and like all 'Unicorn show' kits, it feels experimental and full of compromises.
There's nothing 'Ver.Ka' about this apart from the decal sheet, as far as I can tell, the differences from 2018 are very petty, like changing the color on thrusters, a single piece on the calf thrusters to match the surrounding color and changing the blue covers on the inside of the backpack thrusters to brown... The color separated emblems and cuff details feel cartoonish and rounded, especially compared to the super detailed RG Sinanju gold parts. I'm not sure what the deal here is, because this is the *opposite* of a Ver.Ka. look.
I can't score the kit low, because it doesn't do anything badly, it's just a really weird amalgamation of 4 other kits. My favorite part about it is that I now have the bazooka expansion to the Sazabi rifle (the rifle scope also fits on top of the bazooka scope) and makes it look way cooler - It also fits much better on the Sazabi due to its mass, while the Stein is a lot thinner and more like the Nu Gundam.
On a personal enjoyment score, this kit is a '2' for me, below mid, skippable, nothing special. I wish they had made a proper red Sinanju instead with separate gold parts.
A cool Deck for 00 fans.
It is a great combination from an old series and a new one
Contains cool cards from Gundam Wing and strong ones two.
It is an amazing set that contains some fan favourites like the Unicorn, Freedom, Banshee and other amazing things
MEGA SIZE kits are 1/48, so the 17,5 meter tall Zaku II Mega model is 36cm, while the Perfect Grade is 'only' 30cm (The Mega Size Unicorn is a whopping 45cm tall).
There's no reason for a full scale review, what this is, is a High Grade kit in a larger size, in fact it's even more primitive than most high grades, as it only has 90 degree arm and leg bends, with ratcheted polycap joints so it can hold its pose with its rifle, bazooka and heat hawk (axe). The top of the head pops off and you can turn the eye.
Aesthetically it's quite good looking, with plenty of surface detail and color separation. As for extras it has a commander fin and head-top, two holding hands for the rifle (also used for the heat hawk), two closed fists and an extra hand for holding the bazooka (and... y'know, a bazooka, stored on the butt-flap). The kit also comes with a sheet of waterslide decals, which I will probably use on the PG Zaku II instead and then put stickers on the Mega.
As a build experience it's a pretty fun afternoon build!
It's also a great companion to the Mega Size RX-78-2, they look great together.
The Liber Enchanter is one of two expansion sets for the Liber Wizard (or the Rosan Wizard, if you want, the other being the sorcerer expansion), to turn the hooded spellcaster into a caped fencer or a 'spell sword' sort of character.
The kit has three small runners - Purple, cream white and metal injection silver, specifically a light silver with maybe a bit of light blue hue to it.
The silver parts would benefit a lot from panel lighting to highlight the details. As it is on its own, it looks cheap and ugly, due to the swirly metal injection plastic that is mismatched against the other colors.
The purple cloak can turn side to side on the peg it sits on, but otherwise it's static, no back and forth.
While it might not look like it on the pictures, the rapier/straight saber, is very long, to fit the height of the Wizard 3 model (it towers over the other two types, the fighter and knight).
The staff is shortened to become more of a short staff or a wand, by replacing the middle piece.
Overall it's really odd and looks mismatched. There's definitely a style to it, but the silver plastic definitely needs paint, which should be fairly simple.
To me, a lot of these 'class up' expansions are hit or miss and it's largely due to the plastic colors clashing very hard.
There is actually a P-Bandai Dragon Gundam HG kit, from G-Fighter.
The HG Altron used to be P-Bandai, but became a standard release along with the Deathscythe Hell and the other customs. Note that the product images are more teal (blue) than the model, which is more of a sea-green.
Aesthetics:
Tons and tons of color separation with only minor color corrections via stickers. The colors are vivid and the silhouette is great, a much more elaborate kit than most of the HG Wing kits. It benefits heavily from panel lining and while there aren't a lot of stickers, there are a couple of spots on the legs that could use some grey paint, as well as the all-white vents on the sides of them.
Comes with the usual foils and also eyes for the dragon fangs on the arms.
Mechanics:
This is basically the Shenlong Plus Edition, it does all of the same (big forwards bend, moving chest, dragon arm), with double the dragon fang arms and now also a winged backpack with an articulated 'stinger' beam gun.
It poses great, it can hold all of its stuff and the arm extensions work perfectly fine. The arms can extend from the shoulders on their own and there are two extenders for each arm, that you key in between the parts to make them even longer.
Equipment:
1 double-ended Beam Trident, which is pretty huge compared to the model
1 folded up Beam Trident that can be stored on the inside of the right wing
1 Shield that's stuck onto the left shoulder on a ball joint
4 arm extenders, two for each arm
6 hands - 2 open, 2 holding hands and 2 thumb-out holding hands from the Sandrock
(not a lot of equipment, but it's the 'Dragon Fang' flamethrowers on the forearms that are the 'real' equipment)
Conclusion:
I never *really* liked the Altron, largely because Chang Wufei was always a hard to like character, but both the HG Shenlong and Altron are pretty cool. The color separation on the Altron especially is great, notably the gems on the shoulders being red on yellow on green, unlike the sticker gems on the Shenlong.
The more time has passed, the more I appreciate and like the mobile suits that I didn't like as a kid and I'm happy to add the Altron to my collection of Gundams, from Gundam Wing. Maybe one day we'll get Master Grade TV editions... one can dream (unfortunately they're making EW HG kits instead...)
The Full Cloth Crossbone Gundam is a direct repeat of the X1 Crossbone Gundam Ver.Ka, with very minor differences and a stacks of extra stuff.
Just like the Ver.Ka, it does not have any polycaps, but instead uses ABS plastic. It is prone to slightly loose limbs and would benefit from tightening then, such as using joint guard or other tricks.
Aesthetics:
There are a lot of differences - You do get every runner that the Ver.Ka kit has, but the main difference that you can't change, is that the blue B runner is now a deep purple instead and the A runner has a more pale yellow rather than a light orange.
Additionally, the entire exterior head is different (you can make the old one if you want), the skull on the head and chest are different (you can use the old ones - I did, since they're less cartoony) and there are some parts that make the kit a little different, such as the chest clamps, for equipping the Full Cloth armor.
There is, again, a lack of color correction and no stickers except for a few yellow ones for mainly the core fighter and the shoulder vents. You have to paint a LOT of yellow yourself and the red scars on the face, which is easy since they're recessed - just rub away the excess.
The kit comes with foils, color correction stickers, a smaller sticker decals sheet and a rub-on dry transfer sheet with edgy 'tattoo' style markings that look very fun. This is a running theme, with the Full Cloth version being more cartoony in general than its predecessor.
Mechanics (copy/paste repeat of the ver.ka - It's the same kit):
Overall the limbs bend and pose nicely, like a modern kit, with shoulders that come far out front. There's no ab-crunch, but this is a core-fighter kit, so it's to be expected.
Its primary advantage are its gadgets, such as its front and back skirts turning into grappling hooks and whips. The mouth opens up to reveal venting underneath, giving it a vampire pirate look. Handles pop out of the calves to combine with combat blade, the back of the forearm swivels out to make fist beam weapons and even its weapons combine into a rifle, plug the core fighter with the 'X' shaped verniers comes out.
There's a lot going on here that makes it a fun gimmick kit.
Unfortunately, the kit struggles to hold its weapons since the tabs are not strong enough. You'd need to pin them with metal and glue.
Equipment (Full Cloth first and then Ver.ka):
1 set of Full Cloth armor that slots onto the chest hatch and the shoulders
2 Skull Fists that detach from the shoulder and can be equipped as fist weapons
1 Peacock Smasher which is the crossbow gun with harmonica extending bow
1 Muramasa Blaster which is a gigantic sword full of beam emitters, along with 2 spiky Beam Effect parts. Can be wielded as a gun and the tip comes off - There's no effect part for replacing the tip.
1 Beam Shield, which I recommend gluing together, because boy is it bad to assemble. Goes onto one of the 'punching' plates on the back forearms.
+
1 flintlock styled Beam Pistol
1 Beam Saber hilt with a gigantic pink saber effect part
2 Beam Punch effect parts for the fists
2 regular Beam Saber Hilts in the shoulders/on the core fighter with 2 pink beam effect parts
2 Chains and 2 Cables for extending the front and back skirt weapons
**The kit does NOT come with the cloth cloak.**
Conclusion:
While the two kits are the same, they're also not. Besides the head and colors being different, the silhouette completely changes from the vampire style cloak (Full Cloth) that adds a lot of attitude and presence to the kit, so they look completely different on a shelf together.
Sadly the kit is unable to hold the crossbow. I managed to wedge the butt-stock of it on some of the armor, while it holds it pointed upwards, but it falls out of the hand constantly. Oddly it holds the massive sword just fine, but the left hand seems better than the right one.
Additionally, there is just a ton of missing yellow and grey color on the weapons, core fighter and on the mobile suit itself. Not everyone has paint to just fix the cheeks and it's not reasonable to expect people to go out and get it. You can probably use a red pen of some sort, but I recommend regular acrylic paint, like Citadel/Warhammer paint.
There is no adapter for putting it on a base, so you need to use one of those awkward U shaped 'diaper' adapters that come with an Action Base 1.
Slightly outdated, slightly awkward, but a ton of fun, I really like it.
It is an amazing first build for a gundam I would 100% recommend for anyone to start with this gundam
