This is a Master Grade (MG) plastic model kit of the Ball as seen in Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team.

The tip of the twin-barreled machine cannon opens via a sliding mechanism, achieving a high level of precision with finely molded thin walls. Clear parts are used for the sensor section.

Realistic textures are reproduced through the use of soft materials, including the joint cover at the base of the movable arm, a metal shaft for the damper section, and an ultra-thin lead wire at the tip of the arm.

The winch wire is accurately recreated with soft material, and two types of anchors are included—one for firing and one for deployed display. A standard-type cannon is also included and can be interchanged.

Not suitable for small children due to many small parts.

Famous for taking on a Zaku II in "08th Team MS"

The 08th MS Team 'Ball' is the same kit as the Ball Ver.Ka, in fact you get all of the same parts and the extra parts to make this orange version and is therefore also a "ver ka", except orange.
In lore it's an early civilian type version "K" with thicker armor, more options and more armaments than the mass produced RB-79.

The difference, besides the color, is the alternate guns and different parts for the front of the chassis, which include a large bumper bar with four lamps on it instead of a double bumper, and a winch. It also has the two 'hook points' above the side windows filled in, for whatever reason (optional).

    Aesthetics:
It's the same Ball but orange, as mentioned, giving it more of a worker aesthetic.

The detail level is high, especially under the armor plating, which offers a lot of opportunities to paint in detail. This also goes for the interior of the turret, as you can take off the casings.
The armor itself offers some amount of panel lines and hidden seam lines. Just like the Ver.Ka ball it has wire details for the arms and metal parts..

The kit comes with sticker decals and some nice looking dry-transfers. There are no foil stickers for the gun cameras, you need to either paint them, use a marker of your color choice, or cut out foils if you have leftovers from other kits.

    Mechanics:
There's not a lot to it. You can open the cockpit hatch and you can slightly turn the manipulators in various directions and turn the turret.
You can also move the rear thrusters and the four top thrusters slightly.
The winch is the 'big' part of this kit, but being that it's fairly old, they're parts-swapped.
The arms can extend or retract slightly, which is different from the Ver.Ka ball. Doesn't do much.

    Equipment:
    Winch parts -
2 position parts (stored or extended)
2 grappling modes (closed or open)
2 firing modes (ready or fired with a longer line)
    1 Pilot Figure
    2 Standing Astronauts
    1 Base/Stand
    1 alternative single barrel Cannon
    Alternative build parts

    Conclusion:
It's the ball, but in orange, with different guns.
Which one you get is entirely up to what you like better - Grey or orange, double guns or single gun, do you care about the fight scene in 08th Team then you probably like the orange one better.

The size/proportions seem to be a lot bigger than they are in the shows, maybe in order to make the pilot proportional or to have a more satisfying model, I'm not sure. It does look great and it does draw attention.

If you can, you should have one of each. No one likes a guy with just one ball.
