Prototype Mobile Suit RX-178. The A.E.U.G. version of the RX-178 MKII is a fantastic kit, and one of the easier ones. Once completed, it is incredibly detailed and poseable. It comes with a Rifle, Shield, Bazooka, 2 Beam Sabers, Vulcan Pods, and Mesh Pipe for assembling the legs and backpack. This model is identical to the Titans Version, except it DOES NOT come with the extra test suit parts found in the Titans version.

NOTE: If you want water slides for this kit, you can find them here

Base not included.

Not suitable for small children, as there are many small parts.

You’ll need a lighter. Trust me.

The Mk II, the second Gundam Mobile Suit of the franchise which was almost immediately replaced by the true successor of the show, the Zeta Gundam.

I think most who look at this kit today won’t really see what’s special or interesting about it, but this design speaks to me more than most.
It’s a solid and bulkier version that looks like a multi ton war machine on two legs.
The face has a ‘cap’ brow which gives it a menacing look. It’s also the first Gundam to have a yellow/golden V-fin.

This is a pretty solid RG despite the pre-molded inner frame which is notorious for weakening after a few poses. All the same, I’d advise anyone to be careful with these early RG kits.

This kit features an interesting detail which are the flexible woven tubes or ‘vinyl tubes’ as Bandai calls them in the manual, which add detail on the back of the legs.
You should get a lighter for when cutting these to length as they will fray and start unraveling.
What you do is cut the tubing with a scissor, then hold the end near the open flame of the lighter until it melts, which will happen almost immediately.
This makes sure that the fibers don’t come undone when you flex the limbs of the model kit. Make sure not to cut the lengths too long, as you don’t have much to spare and they won’t fit nicely.

The kit comes with a shield, rifle, bazooka, beam sabers and a “headset” which festure attachable guns to the head, though these are not accurate and are not meant to be used with this version of the kit. They fit nicely though.

The back pack thrusters are somewhat loose and can easily fall off. Consider gluing them in place.

I really like this kit, there’s a lot of attention to detail like moving pistons.
Definitely give this one a try and consider the ‘Titan’s’ version if you prefer it in blue.
