There's a few small issues; The lens on the chest needs to be glued in and carefully at that. The other is that the head fit is so tight, that you might need to carefully file down the pegs or drill out the holes a bit, otherwise you'll get one mother of a seamline.
There is no cockpit (and therefore not one available to open) and unlike other kits, there is no miniature pilot.
With that out of the way, the reimagining of the titular Wing Gundam, from the show 'Gundam Wing' (creative, I know) is excellent. The wings are truly phenomenal in how they split in several locations, in order to make them look truly impressive, something that the original design never quite managed - In fact it suffered from looking quite generic, until it was replaced with the Wing Zero version with "feathered" angelic wings.
The chest section is split into three parts, which are articulated and give the model a larger range of articulation. The shield splits in order to reveal the beam saber and then there are the two transformations, including the new "bird mode" which was never a part of the show, but it's welcome all the same.
Regarding the transformation, it works as it should and it won't fall apart. As for what it looks like, it is what it is, this is a mobile suit from the 90's and unlike the very complicated Zeta Gundam, this one is far simpler. Still, they've managed to make more out of it than it originally was and done a great job at that.
As there is with many RG kits, there's a huge sheet of optional decal stickers.
The goal of Real Grade is to "upgrade" kits to answer the question of 'what if this was built in real life' and to add as much detail and as many mechanics as they can in a small package. For this one, the added goal was to make an homage to the TV/show version, which means it has saturated/deeper colors which might not appeal to everyone.
This is not an ambitious kit, it's not flashy and it's not overloaded with intricate mechanics. What it is, is exactly what they set out to do, which was to make the best version of the Wing Gundam and they succeeded. Get a stand with it and let those wings soar.
